This is probably the only song by a ‘Christian’ band that I can listen to. The song isn’t that religious, but the band is. If you look up their other stuff, they sing a lot about religion.
I like this particular video because I’ve always wanted to go to Portland. I know they’re pretty liberal up there, but I don’t think I’d mind. Social Conservatives are killing me here in Texas. I have a good feeling that I could find quite a few in Portland who call Rick Perry an asshole.
Also, Donald Miller wrote a book called “Through Painted Deserts”. It’s a story about him and his friend traveling to Portland from Texas. He’s pretty religious, but it’s still a good story. If there was ever one Christian I could be, it would be Donald Miller. Or maybe Norman Horn. Norman’s a guy here in Texas, he’s a cool guy.
A friend of mine brought this to my attention, and I believe it’s worthy of SL’s official endorsement. Word to the wise though…if you don’t want to come across as the Ron Paul nut, zealot, kook, cultist that you probably are, then you better have some other conversation ready to go.
There are a few songs that I listen to almost everyday and I can because they never get old. This is one of those songs. I could listen to it a million times.
It’s been close to a year since I decided to move to Texas with my folks. It’s been a crazy time, and I have met many people that have become very close friends. I have also met a lot of people who drive me insane. It’s probably the social conservatives that irk me the most, but I guess I should probably learn to live with them. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be here, but I thought I would post my thoughts while I’m here.
